Elements and Principals of Art Infograph

Description:  I went out and took 12 photos around my house of the different principles and elements of art.  After I took all of my photos, I put them into an infograph with the principle or element and its definition.  This gives the different elements or principles along with a definition and a photo to represent it.

Activity:  This activity could be great for upper elementary students.  I would choose either principle or element to find photos of so then the students would only be finding 6 photos instead of 12.  The students will get their photos and then they can decide how they want to show their classmates their photos and the definition.

Footprint Introductions

Description:  This is a footprint introduction activity.  On my footprint, I included my name in big bold letters as the main eye-catching symbol on the footprint.  Within the footprint, I included some interests and hobbies, along with some things that are important to me.  We had to include at least 3 different mediums.

Toothpick Fence- shows how much I enjoy farming, and that I grew up on a farm.

Hearts- The two groups of red hearts represent my grandparents whom I love, and the 5 purple hearts represent my family.

Heart with a Hand- I work in childcare and absolutely love my job and kiddos.

Dog- Represents my childhood dog who is my best friend, her name is Rozie.

Big N- This represents Northern which is where I go to college.

Volleyball- Represents my favorite sport and the sport I hope to coach one day.

Extension:  As an introduction activity, I would add to this activity by having the students take home a couple sheets of construction paper trace each of their family members' footprints, and write one thing that they like or know about that person.  This will give the teacher an idea of the family at home and the art supplies that they have to work with.
